All properties of glasses and melts included in SciGlass databases are divided into 29 groups. In the case of the selection of tables the search is performed for the groups of properties. If a certain group is selected it means that all tables containing data of any property belonging to this group will be retrieved as a result of the query.
In the case of the search for glasses the search is performed not for the groups of properties, but for the properties within the groups. In this case the user can specify not only the properties themselves, but the ranges of their desired values in the glasses of interest (specified in the Max and Min fields). Use the And/Or option buttons to combine the properties on the basis of either logical And (search for all), or Or (search for either).
Note that some properties don't have numerical values in SciGlass databases since they are reserved for the future updates of the program. Please, refer to the Glossary for the list of glass properties with actually available property values.
Fields for the selection of Properties can be pre-defined as being one of two types: Combo and Text field. The desired type can be selected in the Personal settings form on the My Profile page.
